Philippe Mobers

Born on January 9, 1959 in Brussels. Studied music theory and guitar from the age of nine, and four years later, enrolled in percussion lessons and began playing in groups. In 1982, after having studied with B. Castellucci, he broadened his musical horizons in different formations with P. Van Dormael (modern jazz) and also F. Wuyts (Flexible Music).


In '83 he joined the Seven Roots reggae band and Pat Kilbride's folk-rock band. The following year, went on a European tour with the "soul man" E. Lloyd and R. Thomas, true legends of soul music. Then, he joined the group of Philippe Lafontaine with which he records and plays live until 2006.


After a Latin-jazz experience with A. Massart (Three to get ready), meeting with Maurane and beginning of a long complicity. End 80, "study" trip to U.S.A (professors: D. Garibaldi, A. Acuna) and the following year, internship in Antibes with Joe Diorio and Joey Baron. Follows a tour with Marcia Maria.


In early 90, he won a first prize at the Conservatoire de Bruxelles in Jazz and joined the trio of Nono Garcia (flamenco-jazz). Follow a series of concerts and recordings with: Axelle Red, Laïs, Adamo, Kadril, Sttellla, Khadja Nin, Gorky, Perry Rose, Marka and J-P. Catoul & G. Micault for whom, he realizes the album "other words".


At the beginning of 2002, joined F. Dragone and his team as "percussion instructor" for the show of C. Dion and gave private lessons to the star. Integrate Rock's Cool as a drum teacher and together. In 2004: tour with Maurane with whom he recorded the cd and the dvd "L'heureux tour". Since 2005, works in studio for different artists and is involved in new projects as a co-producer with Mr. Bioul as well as Melody Dalton (rock-pop) and Usher (Rock) and is more involved in pedagogy.


Participates in a large concert Bxl Grand-Place (2006) with Zap Mama, Sioul, J. Verminnen, as well as for the feast of C F (2008) with Sttellla, W.Dunker, Jeronimo, Lafontaine, P. Rose. Unique concert for the 30 years of Kadril during the Nekka Nacht at the Palais des Sports in Antwerp. Outstanding participation in the orchestra of the international festival of film music in Ghent (25 musicians). Since 2010 has joined Urban Trad and is working on the production of Red Flowers. Is also a music programmer at the Maison de la Culture in Namur.


Philippe Mobers also accompanied during exceptional events: F. Cabrel, V. Sanson, M. Fugain, M. Jonaz, J. Birkin, D. Lavoie, Noà, Gad Elmaleh, R. Bona, T. Thielemans, Benabar, Renan Luce, La Grande Sophie ...
